Rihannah Association Organizes a Scientific Lecture on Radioactive Pollution in the Palestinian Environment
As part of its environmental camp activities, Rihannah Association organized a scientific lecture titled “Radioactive Pollution in the Palestinian Environment”, presented by Professor Adnan Laham, Director of the Center for Radiation Science and Technology at Al-Quds University and a member of the International Advisory Committee on Radiation at the World Health Organization.
The session witnessed active participation from the attendees, who posed a range of questions and inquiries, all thoroughly addressed by Professor Laham. During the lecture, he discussed the nature of radiation, its sources, its effects on the environment and public health, and the means of protection against it—emphasizing the importance of community awareness on this critical issue.
This lecture comes as part of the association’s ongoing efforts to raise environmental awareness among participants and shed light on environmental issues impacting the Palestinian reality.
جمعية ريحانة تنظّم محاضرة علمية حول التلوث الإشعاعي في البيئة الفلسطينية
ضمن فعاليات المخيم البيئي، نظّمت جمعية ريحانة محاضرة علمية بعنوان “التلوث الإشعاعي في البيئة الفلسطينية”، قدّمها البروفسور عدنان اللحام، مدير مركز علوم وتكنولوجيا الإشعاع في جامعة القدس وعضو اللجنة الاستشارية الدولية للإشعاع في منظمة الصحة العالمية.
شهدت الجلسة تفاعلًا مميزًا من الحضور الذين طرحوا مجموعة من الأسئلة والاستفسارات، أجاب عنها البروفسور اللحام بشروحات وافية. وتناول خلال المحاضرة ماهية الإشعاع، ومصادره، وآثاره على البيئة والصحة العامة، بالإضافة إلى سبل الوقاية منه، مؤكدًا على أهمية التوعية المجتمعية في هذا المجال.
تأتي هذه المحاضرة في إطار جهود الجمعية لرفع الوعي البيئي لدى المشاركين وتسليط الضوء على القضايا البيئية التي تمس واقعنا الفلسطيني.
